Beyond the Lab is a skills-driven introduction to the NSF I-Corps program, designed to help participants identify new opportunities and apply scientific innovation to real-world challenges. Kaylee M Hinds is an award-winning PhD Candidate in biomolecular and forensic anthropology at the University of Montana and currently serves as the NSF I-Corps “Beyond the Lab” Coordinator Intern. With a strong foundation in scientific research and experience in innovation and commercialization support, she works at the intersection of academia, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship. Her work focuses on helping STEM researchers translate complex research into practical applications, while her own studies explore microbiology, biochemistry, forensic science, and anthropology.
